Eric Goulden is known to many as Wreckless Eric though most are unaware of his prodigious recorded output since his beginnings on Stiff Records in the mid-seventies. Recent sets have focused on his two most recent albums, 2024’s Leisureland and its predecessor, Transience. He tends to do what he wants, rather than what might be expected. His live performance is like a sonic journey through time and space.

For this show he’ll be appearing with a band: his friend and collaborator of fifty something years, Graham Beck on keyboards and keyboard bass; writer and musician Amy Rigby on guitars and percussion, and Will Moore on drums. He promises to play his big hit from the seventies, the enduring Whole Wide World, and he may play other songs from that era, but don’t expect a recreation of 1977 – the past 47 years have made him so much more than that. Goulden has enjoyed a genuinely extraordinary career. Alexis Petridis, The Guardian
