We’re Going on a Dark Matter Hunt Featuring Dr Clara Nellist, Prof Maggie Aderin-Pocock, Dr Jen Gupta and Dr Helen Czerski

Dark Matter. It’s an invisible and hypothetical form of matter that does not interact with light or other electromagnetic radiation that is thought to make up around 85% of the Universe. We can detect it, but we can’t see it. Sort of. It’s been described by many physicists as shorthand for ‘we don’t know’. We don’t know what 85% of everything is made up of. What fun!

To attempt to untangle this, and explain how we’re trying to find this elusive Dark Matter, and why Dark Energy is something else entirely, physicist Dr Helen Czerski is joined by particle physicist Dr Clara Nellist of CERN, and two astrophysicists, Sky at Night co-host Prof Maggie Aderin-Pocock and Sky at Night regular guest Dr Jen Gupta.
