From her home in the most Northern isles of the UK, Shetland, Marjolein brings her surreal observations on life, and, death. Awarded No. 3 in The List’s ‘Hot 100′ as one of the top Scottish cultural contributors of 2023. Marjolein was also a finalist of the BBC NEW COMEDY AWARDS, placed 2nd in the FUNNY WOMEN STAGE AWARDS and was awarded Scots Speaker of the Year in 2022.
Marjolein’s Edinburgh Fringe show MARJ had a complete sell-out run and earned two award nominations, as well as being one of the top reviewed shows of the 2023 Fringe, receiving numerous five and four star reviews. Marjolein is a regular panelist on the BBC’s BREAKING THE NEWS and THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UNEXPECTED. Marjolein has also recently performed stand up on ROSIE JONES’ DISABILITY COMEDY EXTRAVAGANZA for Dave and BBC’s SCOTLAND STANDS UP.
