Helen is a physicist, first and foremost, but she’s acquired a few other labels along the way: oceanographer, presenter, author and bubble enthusiast. She is the author of two best selling science books (Her latest, Blue Machine, won the 2024 Wainwright Prize for writing on Conservation) and is one of the most well loved and respected science broadcasters in the UK. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UCL.
