Founded in East London in 2001 by composer Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante and choreographer Kenrick ‘H2O’ Sandy, Boy Blue is a radical force that has defined the potential and power of hip-hop dance theatre across the UK. The company have created works that challenge common perception while delivering a new voice from the streets and clubs that have long inspired a generation.
Having brought streetdance to the GCSE syllabus, Boy Blue sit at the cutting edge of cultural innovation. Artistic Associates of the Barbican, London, they create works for the stage and screen, tour nationally and internationally and run a highly respected dance training programme.
