Since beginning as the solo project of frontperson and songwriter Ben Wyborn, Baggio has evolved into a rotating cast of musicians, collaborators and friends, becoming one of South London’s most beloved live acts in the process. Influenced as much by Silver Jews, Bill Callahan and Neil Young as they are by football, TfL and the acts with which they share their corner of the capital, the band’s sound has grown from twinkly Garageband compositions to fully formed alt-country goodness filled with lap steel guitar, violin, horns and harmonica. Their debut album, The Dreadful Human Tangle, was released in 2024 on Double Dare (piglet, Shovel Dance Collective, The GN Band), and the follow up is due later this year.
