Award-winning comedian, writer and actor Catherine Bohart joins the comedy bill. She has fast become one of the most sought-after comedians in the UK and Ireland after her debut solo show, Immaculate, premiered at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe.

Conversations, Podcasts, Poetry

Back in 2019 we introduced The Listening Post; a whole new stage dedicated to the diverse and creative art form that is podcasts. The stage became a standout success and grows every year!  This year, we’re not only presenting some of the hottest podcasters around, but also interesting and thought-provoking conversations, films and ideas, along with literature and poetry – a rabble-rousing range of established wordsmiths and emerging talents who all recognise the power of language to change the world.

Author and artist Charlie Mackesy joins Nina Nannar to talk about the journey of his beloved characters from page to Oscar and BAFTA-winning film. Explore the heart of the much-loved The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse animated short film and some live drawing from Charlie.

Latitude favourite and The Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage, will be celebrating the music of language with the Latitude audience, with readings from his latest book Never Good With Horses, the first-ever collection of the Poet Laureate’s lyric output.

Garth Marenghi also joins the festival in support of his now Sunday Times Bestselling book TerrorTome. Garth Marenghi is the pseudonym of writer and director Matthew Holness, best known for his role as the fictional horror author in the cult comedy series Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace. Holness will perform in character as Marenghi, the book’s ostensible author.
