7 Reasons Why Latitude Is The Ultimate Festival for Families

At the UK Festival Awards in 2018 we were thrilled to take home the award for Best Family Festival for the second time.

Each year we strive to give award-winning experiences for you and family and Latitude 2019 is set to be no different.

So, if you’re thinking about taking your family to a festival this summer, here are 7 Reasons Why Latitude is the Ultimate Festival for Families.

1. THERE’S A DEDICATED KIDS AREA

Children have an entire area of the festival dedicated just to them. The Kids Area always has an assortment of activities, from soft play for tiny tots, to creative crafts and cool science projects for older kids. There’s also a cafe dishing up children’s favourites perfect for hungry little tummies. And, the fun doesn’t have to stop once the sun goes down – there’s evening entertainment on offer for children too.

2. TEENAGERS HAVE THEIR OWN HANGOUT

If you’re a parent of a teen, you’ll know they don’t always want Mum or Dad hanging around. That’s why we’ve got the Inbetweeners Area especially for teenagers. Last year, teens had the opportunity to learn to DJ, design their own T-shirts, or take part in Animation and Creative Writing workshops. There’s even a dedicated teen stage showcasing emerging young talent.

3. CAMP IN AN AREA ESPECIALLY FOR FAMILIES

Families with children under 16 are able to camp in the special family campsite, with dedicated toilets, showers, washing up facilities and food traders. It’s situated right next to the family activity areas, so you don’t need to worry about being too far from the action. The Family Car Park is also close by, minimising your journey from car to campsite when you have toddlers in tow!

4. THE ENCHANTED GARDEN PROVIDES FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Located in the family campsite is the Enchanted Garden, offering a wide range of family entertainment. Welcoming and sociable, there’s plenty of opportunity for both adults and children to make new friends while taking part in fun, wholesome activities. Last year included yoga sessions, archery, and circus skills workshops – who knows what’ll await you in 2019?

5. GO SWIMMING IN THE LAKE

We have supervised swimming for both adults and children over 8 years old in the beautiful Latitude lake. You can even take swimming lessons or go on an adventure swim!

6. SAFETY IS A PRIORITY – FOR FESTIVAL GOERS OF ALL AGES

The entire site is monitored by experienced security staff and our stewards are there to assist you with help or directions if needed. The Welfare Tent located in the Village can provide assistance and advice on a variety of matters, and there is also a fully staffed Medical Tent on site.

Any children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult, but children aged 10-12 years old can walk through the arena entrance without you if arrange for them to have an Authorised Unaccompanied Wristband. Any children found alone without a wristband will be looked after by our Welfare Team who’ll help to reunite them with their family.

7. LITTLE ONES CAN GET THEIR FIRST TASTE OF A MUSIC FESTIVAL!

Children are welcome in the arena at any time as long as they’re accompanied by an adult, so if they’re itching to tag along with the grown-ups – why not let them? Whether they’re singing along to ‘Shotgun’ or ‘Chasing Cars’, or being mesmerised by one of our fantastic dance performances, there’s sure to be something to share with them from our wonderful 2019 line up.
