How Latitude Can Help You Achieve Your New Year’s Resolutions

To some, January signifies new beginnings. Or, should we say, the opportunity for new beginnings. The start of the new year feels like change is in the air; the proverbial slate is wiped clean and a fresh start is in clear view. But we all know that keeping up with our (sometimes unachievable or wildly optimistic) New Year’s resolutions isn’t the easiest task as the calendar rolls on. That’s why we’re here to offer a helping hand.

How Latitude Can Help You Achieve Your New Year’s Resolutions

Ambitious? Yes – considering most resolutions are history well before July. But here are some ways in which attending Klarna presents Latitude in 2026 can assist with the most popular resolutions.

If Your Resolution Is To Exercise More

We’ve most likely all, at some point, woken up on January 1st with a vow to be more active, whether that’s getting in shape or simply upping your step count. Luckily for you, Latitude can help with this in a variety of ways.

If you’re looking to get more steps in, then look no further. We’re not the biggest festival in the world, but due to the sheer amount there is to see and do on-site, your feet had better get moving if you’re planning on catching everything on your itinerary. One walk between the Theatre Arena and Second Stage alone might buy you a few hundred steps. Multiply that by a few trips each day as you weave in and out of stages and areas, and you’ll have reached your goal before the sun even sets—not to mention the intermittent dancing in between.

If it’s a more structured regime you’re after, we’ve got that in spades. Make your way over to Mind, Body & Zen; their wide-ranging yoga programme is designed for all skill levels. Whether you’re an unofficial yogi guru or you’ve never stepped foot on a mat in your life, there’ll be a class tailored to you. If it’s cardio you’re looking to improve, our campsite run club will be returning, where you can take in the picturesque views of Henham Park during a brisk morning jog with your fellow punters. More info on that to come…

After a side of adventure with your workout? Why not give wild lake swimming a try? The beautiful Latitude lake attracts swimmers of all ages during the festival weekend, with both free and guided swims with SwimTrek on offer. You could also try your hand at paddleboarding or paddleboard yoga with Island Feather – it’s the most fun way to train your core muscles, in our opinion.

If Your Resolution Is To Read More

In today’s digital world, with attention spans decreasing by the day, good old-fashioned book reading seems to have slowly fallen out of favour. But we all secretly strive to be well-read, don’t we? Step into our Bookshop…

In recent years, we’ve introduced a dedicated on-site Bookshop, situated next to the Listening Post, where you can fully immerse yourself in the written word. Browse the aisles for new reads, watch acclaimed authors give talks about their work, or even attend exclusive book signings, all while the heavenly scent of fresh coffee wafts through the air. It’s our little escape for book lovers – and the perfect place to maintain your reading resolution.

It’s estimated that over 170 million books have been published, so finding the one to start with can seem like a daunting feat. We’ve compiled a short list of our favourite books published in the last twenty years:

Fiction:

Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel

Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo

The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton

Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro

Non-fiction:

Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall

We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein

Chavs by Owen Jones

Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari

This Is Going to Hurt by Adam Kay

Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race by Reni Eddo-Lodge

If Your Resolution Is To Consume More Culture

One resolution we find ourselves coming back to each year is to engage in more culture – broadening our horizons, learning about new pastures, or taking up a new hobby. Luckily, Latitude hosts a wealth of this every year, opening doors to new experiences all in one place that you simply couldn’t find anywhere else.

Where else can you spend a morning watching a world-class ballet performance on our Waterfront, an afternoon awe-stricken by acrobatics in the Theatre Arena, followed by an evening moved to tears by a deeply impactful reading from an acclaimed poet, and an after-dark stargazing adventure in the forest guided by an acclaimed astronomical society?

At Latitude, we are dedicated to immersing ourselves in today’s cultural climate. Our Listening Post is home to everything from live podcasts and panel discussions – covering topics ranging from current affairs and politics to ghost stories and dating disasters – to live poetry readings, late-night cabaret, and absurdist comedy. Over on the floating Waterfront Stage, you’ll be dazzled by dance: last year, audiences enjoyed contemporary ballet, classical Indian dance, synchronised swimming, traditional folk dance, and even a baby disco for the little ones. In the Theatre Arena, storytelling comes alive through breath-taking performances that challenge, inspire, and captivate – from high-flying, gravity-defying acrobatics to emotional, intimate performances.

If you’re looking for somewhere to get your culture quota, look no further than Latitude.

If Your Resolution Is To Eat Better

Eating better makes you feel better. But sometimes it’s not just about making healthier choices (although that’s never a bad thing), and more about broadening your palate.

Festival food has (sometimes deservedly) gained a bad reputation over the years, with the stereotype of bland burgers and chips leading the charge for more uninspired choices. However, we’re self-confessed foodies here at Latitude, and we champion bringing global cuisines to the forefront of our food offering. Whether it’s Indonesian coconut curry, Greek gyros, Caribbean jerk chicken, plant-based Thai dishes, fresh poke, Vietnamese noodles, Neapolitan pizza, or a trusty pie and mash, our expansive Street Feast has something for every taste.

If Your Resolution Is To See More Live Music

This one is mostly self-explanatory. Six stages are dedicated to showcasing the very best music has to offer across rock, pop, R&B, garage, soul, punk, indie, electronic, dance, gospel, reggae, jazz, and – of course – the genre-defying. You name it; you’ll find it at Latitude.
