On Stage

The Alcove

Saturday

Having first appeared on the capital’s live circuit at the tail-end of 2023, The Itch’s pairing of undulating dancefloor fillers and disenchanted pop songwriting saw them quickly become a name that was passed between gig goers despite a notable absence from social media, as word-of-mouth spread about an act channelling the stadium rock sensibilities of REM through a modern dance filter.

Live bookings from notable publications ensued (DIY, Dork, The Line of Best Fit), alongside a run of support slots which threatened to hijack the limelight and a tide of offers from major festivals including End of The Road, Deer Shed and Wide Awake – all before the duo had released any music.

Speculation around who The Itch are has only been heightened by a rotating cast of performers from the London live circuit, with each show featuring a different line-up of musicians.

Steering the project are Georgia Hardy and Simon Tyrie. After meeting as teenagers at an open mic night, the two swapped music recommendations online, exposing each other to new genres and a collaborative relationship blossomed. They learnt to DJ and put on club nights in their home town before moving to London where they began writing, recording and producing the music themselves in their makeshift home studio, developing a style that’s uniquely their own. Photos, artwork and videos thus far are also created by the band, expanding upon The Itch’s world.
