At 14, Sonny began performing alongside his father at pubs in South Shields. After being discovered by his management at 15 while singing in a pub in his hometown, Sonny started travelling to London, to record his debut EP Hopeless Romance.
During lockdown, Sonny decided to start using TikTok to reach his ever growing fanbase, and has since grown his following to over 750k followers. Sonny’s stand out vocal and unique songwriting ability have gained him over 70M streams to date. Sonny also opened for England at the EUROS 24′ base camp in Germany and often plays for NUFC at St James’ Park. In 2025 he was eliminated just outside of the Top 12 on American Idol after bringing music legend Lionel Ritchie to his feet with his rendition of Easy by the Commodores.
