Robin is a great many things. A comedian, an author, a broadcaster, a poet and, as The Observer once noted, ‘a becardiganed polymath’. Perhaps best known as the co-creator and former co-host of The Infinite Monkey Cage, he is one of the pioneers of science entertainment in the UK. In 2014 he received an honorary doctorate from Royal Holloway, University of London, in recognition of his wide-ranging contribution to the popularisation of science.

His books have been critically acclaimed bestsellers including The Importance of Being Interested (2021) and Normally Weird and Weirdly Normal (2025). He won the Booksellers Association Author of the Year in 2022 and has won multiple comedy awards from publications such as Time Out and Chortle as well as the Rose D;Or for Monkey Cage
He is also co-founder of The Cosmic Shambles Network alongside producer Trent Burton.
