On Stage
From bedroom recordings to festival stages, Charlie Bennett’s energetic DIY music gives crowds a sense of home.
Teaching himself to record and produce during lockdown, Birmingham native Charlie Bennett proved that great music doesn’t need a fancy setup. His debut EP, Duvet Days—named after the bedding he used to soundproof his room—solidified his DIY ethos and dreamy, infectious sound.
Charlie’s tight-knit fan community, the “Strawbennetts”, has grown to 500,000 strong, catching the attention of major labels like Universal and Sony. In 2025, Charlie released a stellar new EP, Posterboy (named after his home recording ethos), and completed his biggest tour yet, featuring intimate, community-driven shows that felt more like homecomings than concerts.
“My community is at the centre of everything I do,” says Charlie. “Given how DIY and bedroom-based my music is, it’s only natural that my community owns the music as much as I do.” Constantly expanding into new markets, Charlie continues his soaring trajectory, turning every live performance into a space for fans to truly belong and experience his music as never before. With all this accomplished in just a couple of EPs, it’s clear this DIY powerhouse is one to watch.
