SAW Science
This year the SAW Trust Wild Science Tent becomes a Microbe Zoo…an invisible world inhabited by bacteria, fungi, viruses and algae! Dr Jenni Rant from the SAW Trust and Dr Sam Rowe from the Centre for Microbial Interactions plus their team of ‘zookeeper’ scientists from Norwich Research Park will guide you through the different habitats, as you discover what these tiny creatures do, and how they keep plants, people, and the planet healthy. With interactive games, soundscapes and videos, even a mock ‘café and ‘gift shop’!
Festival Sticker Art
Festival Sticker Art help you craft whatever you can imagine and lots of things you can’t, using masses of colourful, quirky but unwanted sticky labels. Use misspelt soup labels to make a hat…or something to put under it!
Okido
Join the Okido team for 3 days of fun filled arts, crafts and science. Using recycled materials we’ll be creating artwork, crafting musical instruments and making decorative pieces to not only complete your own festival looks but ensure that your tents are dressed the part too. Prepare for an explosion of creativity, imagination and maybe even a visit from Messy Monster too …
Stained Glass Mosaics and The Manufactorium
Stained Glass Mosaics
Make your own unique design of mosaic as a keepsake of your time at Latitude. Using recycled translucent coloured glass and plastics you will be able to make a permanent reminder of your visit to the festival. Hang your creation in your window and let the sun shine through to remind you of your great time at the festival.
The Manufactorium
Design and manufacture a unique piece of personal jewellery from recycled wood and metal components. Using a Victorian power tool, driven by hand, your design will be unique to you while developing an understanding of the design and manufacturing process. For yourself or as a present you will enjoy the satisfaction of creating something of your own.
Suffolk Archives
Suffolk Archives will be bringing a taste of project Constable 250 celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of renowned Suffolk artist John Constable. Find out who Constable was, discover his connections to Suffolk, and explore some of his famous paintings. With family friendly crafts, badge making and more!
Suffolk Community & Lowestoft Library
Bookworms assemble at the Suffolk Community & Lowestoft Library tent, for creative activities with a storyteller in residence, roving events, chill out space and more. They’ve been at Latitude since the show began so join them to celebrate this milestone!
Suffolk Recycling
Suffolk Recycling crafts-projects use everyday items to make original crafts from sock monsters to sun-catchers. Find them by their giant recycled art caterpillar
The Loft Baby & Toddler Tent
The Loft Baby & Toddler Tent caters for your youngest with soft play, baby changing & feeding…even baby bath-time. Meet other parents & take some time out. There are more activities and services for babies and toddlers in the Enchanted Garden. The lovely team from The Loft have been at Latitude since the very first year, helping parents and their youngest festival goers enjoy their weekend so stop by and say hi.
Waterstones
Join us at the Waterstones popup bookshop in the Kids Areal! Browse the shelves for the latest bestsellers, beloved classics and new favourites. We’ll be hosting fun activities and events, and you can come along to meet some of your favourite authors for book signings.
Woodcraft Folk
The Woodcraft Folk Woodland Base includes a mud kitchen, blind trails, knot skills, rope bridges, fire lighting and cooking, tin can lanterns, printed flags, bead and mask making, campfire singing in the woods and simple ukulele.
Crafting kids can try dozens of workshops in the Woodcraft Folk Tent, including wet felting, lino printing, wind chimes, paper beads jewellery, seed bombs, boat making and bug hotels.
Greenpeace Ship Building
Jump on board the Greenpeace Rainbow Warrior, so we can set sail together to help save the planet! Come and learn, build and play. A team of Greenpeace volunteers will help you build the Rainbow Warrior Ship, with our tool shed full of hammers, saws, nails, wood, and bunting. We encourage kids to learn how to use tools, so would like guardians to be present at all times.
RSBP
Meet the team from RSPB Minsmere – staff from one of Suffolk’s most iconic nature reserves will be running costumed interactive storytelling of An Avocet’s Journey, creating artwork to display at their Discovery Centre and running craft activities to celebrate the conservation success of the avocet and its close ties to the Suffolk coast.
