Twenty years of festival lineups that celebrate the breadth of the arts. Thousands of artists have moved us with theatre, with literature, with songs, with laughter, with dance. Together, we’ve experienced moments that simply couldn’t have happened anywhere else.
To celebrate it all, we’d like to invite you to join us in a conversation about the most important artists, the most important books, the most important theatre shows. Part mission statement, part cultural archive, part collective memory. A cultural and social survey and conversation with you, our audience, to establish in your eyes and our eyes what the most important aspects of modern life and culture have been.

The Most Important Podcast or Podcaster
Twenty years ago, podcasting was very much a fringe format that was informal, experimental, and largely overlooked. Free from traditional gatekeepers across all genres, podcasts have reshaped not only how we listen, but who we listen to – leaving a lasting imprint on modern culture.
Podcasting emerged alongside the rise of the internet, MP3 players and the iPod, driven by the use of RSS feeds (aka Really Simple Syndication Feeds – great fact for pub quizzes) to deliver audio on demand. Platforms like Apple helped bring podcasts into the mainstream, embedding them directly into devices and daily life.
We’re inviting you to vote from our shortlist for the podcast or podcaster that has most shaped the last two decades.
