SOLAS is a retreat in a woodland escape, a sanctuary space nestled among the trees of Henham Park dedicated to the art of chilling out.

Curated by the organisers of Body & Soul Music and Arts Festival in Ireland – SOLAS (pronounced sull-luss) is the Irish word for light, and at Latitude, light is the beacon and guide within this beguiling, enchanted area.

Allow yourself to be drawn in for musical explorations, wellbeing treatments, yoga salons, a simple moment of relaxation or to explore our beautiful art installations.

The SOLAS Stage

The SOLAS STAGE presents an intimate venue immersed in the forest, playing host to a carefully selected roster of acts to serenade those in the know. With the best in emerging Irish, UK and International talent ranging from folk-tinged acoustic troubadours to ambient electro, from dark pop to lush, layered beats. Expect to discover laid-back musical flights of fancy by day, where you can find some space to relax and revivify, and electro party atmosphere by night, with a vibe that aims to give back as much energy as it takes.

At Latitude 2019, we caught heart-in-the-mouth vocals over driving bass lines and infectious guitar riffs from Irish indie trio whenyoung, Two-Inch Punch protégé, singer-songwriter Aeris Roves, Adam Day’s sonic alter-ego, County Line Runner, that bottle the memories and moments of its creator in his tunes; Melbourne-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Olympia, sublime vocals and raw guitar of Laurel and Maisie Peters’ songs that show with a maturity that transcend her years.

Plus, there was Late Night at SOLAS where we danced into the night in the forest to the sounds of Teleman DJs, 3D: Darren Emerson and more.

The SOLAS Sanctuary

With wellbeing at its core, the SOLAS SANCTUARY offers rejuvenation from head to toe. Set on the edge an entrancing evergreen wood, the wide range of professional treatments allow you to deeply relax while the yoga salon, meditation classes and holistic workshops engage with your curiosity and wisdom.

Highly-skilled therapists in their field of expertise, offering a huge range of treatments ranging from massage options such as Ayurvedic, Thai, holistic and remedial massage to vortex energy healing therapy and craniosacral therapy.

The yoga salon presents classes in an array of yogic practices from dynamic yoga, to laughter yoga, yin yang to vinyasa flow. Highlights from 2019’s workshop programme include Shakti dance, pilates, calligraphy, an exploration of the Buddha’s concept of ‘radical freedom’, and a Flower Mandala Meditation Circle.

Immersive Art Installations

Alongside holistic treats and musical adventures, our wooded enclave offers the perfect opportunity to bring our favourite artists into the belly of SOLAS. Find forest glades transformed into immersive artistic environments, with slow-motion visuals and luscious soundscapes. Mystery, magic, nature and the endless tricks that light can play are all interwoven.

Crystal chandeliers, sparkling canopies, lotus lanterns and sensory sculptures will lead you into new miniature worlds and out into newly-broadened horizons. These specially selected forest adornments from artists such as Jane Groves, Felix Power, Natalie Keegan, Peter Little and Helena Doyle create a dialogue between the natural world and a luminous realm of otherness.
