The Antlers ~ The Word Arena ~ Sunday
Brooklyn-based indie band The Antlers played a selection of songs from their debut concept album Hospice which was released in August 2009.
They played both singles 'Bear' and 'Sylvia', receiving an emotional response from the crowd. Frontman and guitarist Peter Silberman's strong vocals together with intense distorted guitar and drumming created a powerful atmosphere which warranted comparisons to Arcade Fire.
Although this set didn't include the instrumentation (accordion, trumpet) which features on the album, the band maintained their evocative and provoking sound.
